Can you add a struts version of CompassSearchController & CompassIndexController that would let us use lucene with Struts framework.

Agreed, this would be a nice addition to Compass. Until it is implemented (don't think that I will have time soon), the Spring MVC logic can be copied simply into a Struts model.

Of course, if you go through the effort and do it, it would be nice to have it in compass as well.
