Lucene, in recent versions, uses a new way to work with segments generation. It fails silently if there is a problem with segments.gen, and in some database, this failure will cause a transaction to be rolledback.

Committed a fix, for 1.2.2 and 2.0.0.RC1. Wait in the forum to get feedback in order to close it.
