Compass

Not delete compound file inner files on commit, do it in optimizer or/and compass startup.

Created: 20/Sep/05 11:24 AM   Updated: 12/Mar/10 06:27 AM
Component/s: Compass::Core
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: None

 Description  « Hide
When creating a new segment, if it is in compound mode (which is the default and best mode), there are several files created, and then they are merged into a single compound file on commit time.
A possible performance improvement can be not to delete the files that make the compound file at commit time, and clean them up on compass startup and on optimize interval. Note, that the compound file will still be created.
Don't know how the performance will be, but it will be better.
